Phone numbers

Voice tests need real phone numbers — one for AssureAgent to place calls from (outbound), and a number AssureAgent owns that your target system can call into (inbound).

The Phone numbers page in the left nav shows what’s provisioned for your workspace.

How numbers get provisioned

Numbers are provisioned by the AssureAgent team. There’s no self-serve number purchase in the portal today — request a number through your account contact and it shows up in your Phone numbers list typically within a business day.

Outbound numbers

Used to place calls to the target agent. When you save an outbound scenario, you pick which of your provisioned outbound numbers will dial the target.

A few things to know:

  • The same outbound number can be used by many scenarios. There’s no exclusivity.
  • The caller ID the target sees is the outbound number. If your target IVR routes based on caller ID (e.g. recognizes returning customers), pick a number that matches that routing for realistic tests.
  • Outbound numbers can be shared across scenarios — no exclusivity.

Inbound numbers

Used to receive calls from the target agent. Useful when you’re testing an outbound campaign your target runs — your target dials a number we own, we recognize the inbound and connect a caller persona to handle it.

When configuring an inbound scenario:

  • Pick the inbound number that the scenario will be armed on.
  • Multiple scenarios can listen on the same number; the platform routes based on metadata you configure (caller ID match, time-of-day, etc.) — set up help available from your account contact.

Capacity

Each number has practical capacity limits — concurrent call counts, daily volume caps. These are plan-dependent; check Settings → Usage. If you regularly hit limits, request additional numbers.

Number health

The Phone numbers page shows a health indicator per number:

  • 🟢 Active — last test call succeeded.
  • 🟡 Warning — last few calls had latency spikes or partial connectivity issues.
  • 🔴 Down — last attempted use failed end-to-end. Don’t use until investigated.

Number health is checked automatically; click Run health check to force a fresh probe.
